SAFE Water Now uses a round bottom filter design. This results in more structural stability, a reduction in breakage rates and an extension of the useful life of the filter. Also, since SAFE Water Now’s round-bottom filter can only be placed on a surface, such as a counter, upside-down, contamination of the bottom surface and re-contamination of filtered water is much less likely.

Unlike many other ceramic water filter providers, SAFE Water Now incorporates colloidal silver during the mixing phase rather than only painting it on after firing. This prevents the silver from washing off over time, making the filter’s life theoretically without limit, precluding breakage. This approach also prevents the oxidation of the silver or the reaction of silver with chlorine in chlorinated water.
